A disaster is underway in the Sudanese city of Al-Fashir. The city has been closed off from the outside world for five hundred days. Everything touches and the question is how long people will last there. Witnesses and survivors document a city that slowly dies. For correspondent Koert Lindijer, the situation in Al-Fashir symbolizes the hopelessness for many Sudanese citizens who are victims of the civil war.
