Paris Jackson rejected Colman Domingo to have described her as “helpful” during the production of Antoine Fuquas Michael-Jackson-Biopic. Instead, she said her clues had passed. And the film about her father is full of inaccuracies and “smooth lies”.

Paris counters Colman Domingo

In several Instagram stories, Paris clearly distanced itself from the project, the first part of which should be released in April 2026 (there is no start date for the second part). She explained: “I read one of the first script frames and gave my notes, which was dishonest or didn’t feel properly. When nothing was changed, I continued my life. Not my circus, not my monkeys.”

Paris spoke up after Domingo – who plays the controversial family patriarch Joe – had thanked a benefit gala during the film festival in Venice Paris and her brother Prince for her support. He said: “You support our film very much” and Paris was “very helpful”. (Paris was also present at the event.)

After Domingo’s words were taken up, Paris replied directly via Instagram: “Do not say to people that I was ‘helpful’ in a film in which I was 0 % involved LOL, that’s so strange.” (A spokesman for Domingo did not immediately respond to an inquiry about comment.)

However, Paris focused on the film itself. After her comments were ignored, she completely withdrawn: “It is not my project.” She said to her father’s fans: “A big reason why I have been silent so far is that many of you will be happy with the film. He serves a certain segment of the fan base that is still living in the imagination. And they will be satisfied with it.”

“Hollywood fantasyland”

Paris drew comparisons to biopics such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “The Dirt”: “That thing is on these biopics: it’s Hollywood. It’s imaginative. It is not real. But it is sold as real.”

The same thing happens at “Michael”: “The narrative is checked. There are many inaccuracies and many smooth lies. At the end of the day it doesn’t work for me. I don’t like dishonesty. I said something, was not heard. I liked.

Paris did not give any specific examples of the content of the errors. Lionsgate, the production studio, initially did not give a comment. Despite her criticism, however, the film has the support of the Jackson estate.

A film full of delays and arguments

“Michael” has a turbulent production history. The shoot ended in May 2024, but the originally planned start in April 2025 was moved until October 2025 and finally to April 2026 after 22 days.

According to reports, the subsequent act was the third act, which should go into the allegations of abuse against Jackson. However, the film is said to have violated a legal agreement, according to which the story of Jordan Chandler – who accused Jackson in 1993 and later received a comparison of over $ 20 million – was not allowed to be presented.

The first part of the biopics is said to shed light on Jackson’s career from the Jackson 5 to the solo breakthrough with “Off The Wall” in 1979. The second part would treat the rest of the career, but probably exclude the allegations against Jackson.

Occupation of “Michael”

Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson plays in the leading role. In addition to Domingo as Joe Jackson, the Larenz Tate is a Motown founder Berry Gordy, Laura Harrier as music manager Suzanne de Passe and Kat Graham as Diana Ross.
