Radio DJ John van Vroenhoven got on the bike on Wednesday morning in Raamsdonk to visit top 900 voters. His journey passed a fanatic Rolling Stones-gatherer, a magician with a stunning act and singer John de Bever.

After John picked up his bike at the campsite in Raamsdonk, he continued the top 900 tour. The first stop was at Patrick Marcelissen from party band WC Experience from Raamsdonksveer, who covered the song New World in The Morning by Roger Whitaktaker. One of Marcelissen’s favorite in the Top 900. “This song was also on his voting list,” says John.

After a musical start of the day, the Radio DJ continued his bike ride to Waspik, where Stones-Gatherer Peter Donks lives. Donks is a big fan of the Rolling Stones and set up his house as a true museum. “He had a collection full of guitars, gold records and the most diverse stones items,” says John. “He also shared wonderful stories about his encounters with the band members.”

From Waspik, John cycled on to Waalwijk, where magician Etiënne was waiting for him with a stunning trick. “He asked us to choose an artist who could perform virtually in Brabant that evening, without knowing who it was,” says John. “We chose Taylor Swift in 013. A little later there appeared to be a box in the corner of the room with an advertising ticket from a Taylor Swift performance in 013. Bizarre, I was next to it, but couldn’t believe my eyes.”

Later in the day the radio DJ visited Popkoor Zing in Engelen. “There I realized that coincidence does not exist,” says John. “The choir sang Make You Feel My Love from Adele, a song that has a special place in my heart. Sixteen years ago it sounded on the radio when my son was born. It was not agreed, the choir chose it. I looked around and had to tear away a tear.”

After a bike ride of seventy kilometers, John closed the day with his namesake John de Bever. Together with his partner Kees, he spoke about the top 900. “It was very nice, always laughing with those two,” he says. “A perfect end to a busy day.” The radio DJ does not suffer much from the long cycling trip. “A little bit of saddle pain,” he laughs. “I could get on the bike again tomorrow.”
