Finally the time has come – Radiohead reports back live after a seven years break. The band around Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Co. announced a big tour for November and December 2025, which includes four evenings in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen and Berlin.

Drummer Philip Selway explained in a message to the fans that the idea had arisen after rehearsals “Just for the Hell of IT” – and immediately aroused the desire for all five members to perform together again. Now, of course, fans wonder: is there a new album?

After all, the last work of the British band was a while ago: “A Moon Shaped Pool” was released in 2016, almost nine years before the planned tour start in autumn 2025. In the meantime, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, Colin Greenwood and Philip Selway were of course not inactive – with solo albums, soundtracks and especially the Side. The Smile. But a common studio album under the name Radiohead? So far failed.

Radiohead: Tour as an indication of a new album?

Is the tour an indication now? Well, just because radiohead is going on tour again does not automatically mean that an album also appears. As already mentioned, the band simply wanted “Just for the Hell of It” back on stage – and the British colleagues from Oasis also show that you don’t need a new album for successful tours.

Radiohead: What about the foundation of the LLP?

But there was something with the company’s foundation! Doesn’t the foundation of an LLP indicate a new album at the beginning of the year? No, unfortunately not mandatory in this case. An LLP – Limited Liability Partnership – is primarily a legal organizational form that regularly use Radiohead to organize your activities outside of classic label structures. Earlier societies such as Dawn Chorus LLP (a moon shaped pool) or spin with a grin LLP (Kid a Mnesia) actually hinted on new releases, but the current new foundation Rheuk25 LLP clearly sounds like “Radiohead EU/UK Tour 2025”. It is therefore more likely that it is the handling of the newly announced live dates-and not the harbing of a studio album.

Radiohead: The band says that

Unfortunately: not much. Last year singer Thom Yorke was quoted with statements, he didn’t care whether his global fans would like to return to Radiohead. When asked by an Australian radio station after the future of the band, he replied: “I don’t know about it and I really don’t care.”

Another damper for too much expectations: A worldwide tour is not planned at least for the time being. In his message, Philip Selway made it clear to the fans in the social channels: “For now, it wants to be thesis ones but who know this will all lead.” This also suggests that radioheads do not pursue any major plans at first – and therefore probably also no new album is coming up immediately.

So we only have to hope that Radiohead will delight us again with a new album.
