UN mission Lebanon reproaches Israel ‘serious’ attack on blue helmets
The Peace Mission of the United Nations in Lebanon Unifil has convicted an Israeli drone attack on his peace soldiers on Tuesday. Four grenades fell near the blue helmets, says Unifil Wednesday. “This is one of the most serious attacks on Unifil employees and property since last November agreement has been reached on a ceasefire.”
The peace soldiers removed roadblocks that made it impossible to reach a UN post is stated in the statement. The Israeli armed forces would have been aware of the work and, according to Unifil, should have done their work.
One of the grenades came about 20 meters from the blue helmets or their vehicles, the other three within about 100 meters, says Unifil. The work was then suspended.
Unifil speaks of a “serious violation” of an important UN resolution and international law.
