Beau van Erven Dorens is often accused of being lifeless as a talk show host: he has been doing it for so long that the routine has been worn in and there is no more challenge to get. “He’s not strong at it.”
The new talk show RTL Tonight has three presenters: Humberto Tan is currently doing the first month, Renze Klamer does the elections in October and Beau van Erven Dorens is only the last. Will there be a draw or is Beau just the last choice? One thing is certain: there is an image of lifelessness around him.
Leonie in permanent place
Jordi Versteegden, reporter of De Telegraaf, thinks that Beau should stop as a talk show host. “I’ve just been noticing myself for a while – I speak to a personal title – that I don’t find him so strong in a talk show anymore,” he says in a video on the Telegraaf site.
It seems that with the arrival of Leonie ter Braak, RTL 4 is already advocating a little less Beau, says presenter Karlijn Bernoster. “So Leonie ter Braak just stuck on Beau’s site and then it is solved?”
‘Yes, who knows’
Jordi does not completely exclude that. “Who knows that will happen. I think Beau himself is gradually having something: well, a little less talk show. He doesn’t dare to admit that, precisely because he likes to keep doing everything, but you just notice that with him occasionally.”
What exactly? “Well, that because he does so much that the quality goes down slightly. I would say: Beau, just do what you are really good at. My opinion.”

What should Beau do? “He has always been good in those social programs, such as Beau Five Days Inside. He once came up with that and he does that fantastic, looking at all kinds of institutions, and now he is going to walk around in Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital.”
“Beau is doing very well: standing in society and feeling what is really going on. I hope he will make more things like that.”
