Pascal Besteboer from Den Helder now has dozens of games to his name, and they are played all over the world. From adventurous to tactical, from shooting games to ‘platformers’, where you have to run and jump through different worlds. Everything he can think of that he makes.
In his home office, Pascal Besteboer is working on the next game, a tactical shooting game that takes place in space stations. “Space Grunts, it is called. It was my plan to finish it in six months. There are a few more weeks, but it is coming.”
Kept for subsequent generations
That his work is special is apparent from the request from the Regional Archive in Alkmaar. He recently approached Pascal with the request whether they could keep a number of games from the early days as a kind of young heritage. “I had no idea that this is important to save. For me they are just old games. It’s great that it now has a place.”
