The former Dortmund Jadon Sancho leaves Manchester United again and joins the league -based Aston Villa on a loan.
This was announced by the club from Birmingham on Monday evening without giving any further details about the deal. Last season Sancho had won the Conference League as a loan with FC Chelsea, this summer there had always been rumors about returning to Borussia Dortmund.
However, the implementation of such a transfer was not possible. “In the end we have to stay in our economic possibilities and cannot do crazy things. I can understand the wish of everyone, but Jadon Sancho will not switch to BVB,” said BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl on Monday at “Sky”.
Sancho, whose contract expires at Manunited at the end of June 2026, was called for BVB from August 2017 to July 2021 and caused a sensation. He also played strongly when he returned to Dortmund in the second half of the 2023/2024 season.
Manunited, however, gave up other prominent players alongside Sancho on the end of the transfer period. The Brazilian Antony moved to Betis Seville, striker Rasmus Höjlund on loan to the SSC Naples.
