Marc-Marie Huijbregts was not asked to become a panel member in successor RTL Tonight after his contributions to Beau, but he doesn’t mind that either. “I don’t want to be besides Albert Verlinde,” he says.

Beau van Erven Dorens always had Marc-Marie Huijbregts next to him in the last series of his talk show, but he has not yet been announced as a regular guest in successor RTL Tonight. What exactly is that? Well, simple: he wasn’t even asked. “No, I don’t know at all how it works or something,” he says in The Persstribune on NPO Radio 1.

Marc-Marie too expensive?

Nobody explained Marc-Marie why he was dumped. “I also think, if I am very honest – I am not asked – that I might also have a little … I read things that I was too left or something and maybe too expensive maybe. That is a good combination, isn’t it. I wish them a lot of success, but I have not been asked for it.”

Is he so expensive then? “Well, just: what the fool gives for it.”

Marc-Marie also only wants to join Beau, not with Humberto Tan and Renze Klamer. “Well, look: I am a very loyal person, so I really like to sit at Beau, but I don’t like to sit with everyone.”

Not next to Albert

Why doesn’t Marc-Marie want that? “There are a number of people I just like to make laughter, so I like to make Beau laugh. Of course I thought Matthijs was super fun to make laughing. And I had a click with that. But in Hilversum loyalty is not very much appreciated or something.”

He continues: “That never makes people so much when someone sits everywhere in every talk show and I didn’t do that. I just sat at Beau. So you can’t put me in a panel, not with Albert Verlinde anyway and that I am just sitting with people I don’t know, you understand? That’s not really something for me.”

“He knows nothing”

Albert and Marc-Marie have regularly brought together to each other in the media. Albert in particular makes no secret that he finds Marc-Marie a horror to look at. “Yes, I have nothing to do with it, haha,” he said at the end of last year.

He sneered: “What you see is that Beau and Humberto have become a sort of the world turning through light, but very light. They just took over that team with Marc-Marie. He never knows what. He is there, but actually knows nothing.”

“Really nonsense!”

Incidentally, TV expert Victor Vlam does not believe that Marc-Marie would be too expensive for RTL. “That point about that money is of course nonsense. Clearers are reportedly getting 3,000 euros for a broadcast. For that amount, Marc-Marie Heus will appear,” he writes up X.

“I think they are just not waiting for him. He has a terrible urge at the table. His input is not appreciated by many.”
