This game will probably only be remembered by the most stubborn fans. The fact that FC Schalke 04 was able to win the encounter at Dynamo Dresden in a weak game was thanks to the short -term awkwardness of the young Dresden offensive player Kofi Amoako and the coolness of Kenan Karaman.

Shortly before the end, the Schalke attacker converted a penalty to the acclaimed 1-0 (0: 0) away win (84th minute) of the Gelsenkirchen traditional club, which slips into two with the third win of the season. “This is just a confirmation that we are on the right track“, S04 coach Miron Muslic told the sports show,”And we want to continue this path together.

Schalke compact, Dresden full of zest for action

The Saxons bravely started and tried to impress the Schalke immediately. After 80 seconds, Dresden’s Jonas Oehmichen had the first great option, but his shot from the offside position from around six meters was able to fend off Schalke goalkeeper Loris Karius with a remarkable reflex of his left arm.

Dresden pressed the team of coach Muslic very deeply into its own half in the initial phase, but without further possibilities. S04 looked compact and committed, dynamo full of zest for action.

S04 goalkeeper Karius with a shiny reflex

It took around 15 minutes for the Schalke to free themselves a little of the pressure, but without creating a chance. An intensive game developed with many duels, including the playful level on both sides.

Little happened on the field, the wear struggle on both sides prevented any combination game. After 28 minutes, the Schalke then had at least a central free kick chance, but Vitali Becker’s batch from 22 meters was able to parry Dynamo goalkeeper Tim Schreiber.

Dresden’s Daferner with the leadership opportunity

Seven minutes later, however, the team of coach Thomas Stamm should have taken the lead, but attacker Christoph Daferner failed after a flat cross from Amoako from three meters on the brilliantly parrying Karius. Otherwise there was not much to see apart from fighting on both sides.

Even after the change, it continued combative without gate danger on one of the two sides. The Dresdeners tried at least some playful quality, while the Schalke acted primarily with long, uncontrolled balls.

Schalkes Karaman keeps the nerves

Both teams were always uninspired on the opposing defense chains. A game where only coaches could like. Janik Bachmann tried it from a distance after 73 minutes from 23 meters, but goalkeeper Schreiber was on the spot.

When the game consequently ran out that both teams would go into the cabin with a goalless draw, Amoako poked for the ball in the Dresden penalty area, but only caught the chopping of the Schalke attacker Karaman, which had been pale.

According to the television pictures, Robert Hartmann decided on a penalty, which Karaman skilfully converted. After that, the Schalke brought the happy victory over time.
