The Rhinelander temporarily play into a frenzy and win against the Breisgau. After the half -time break, everything goes very quickly.
Carnival mood at 1. FC Köln: The “Effzeh” showed SC Freiburg 4: 1 (1-0) with an exhilarating performance at the end of the 2nd match day of the Bundesliga and climbs to third place in the table. Even more: With six points, the Cologne team are even tied with leaders FC Bayern and the second Eintracht Frankfurt.
Jakub Kaminski (35th), Marius Bülter (47th), Jan Thielmann (57th) and Said El Mala (81st) scored for the team of coach Lukas Kwasniok, Maximilian Eggestein scored the honor goal for the guests who could have losing even higher. Cologne presented itself after the 1-0 win at the start of the season at Mainz 05 with a game-mood and offensive urge, Freiburg, on the other hand, already conceded the second bitter defeat: at the start of the season it set a 1: 3 at home against FC Augsburg. In this constitution, the SCF is not suitable for the Bundesliga.
Driven by his own appendix, Kwasniok’s team, which this time coached in black FC softening jersey and had defensively switched to a chain of four, started. Kristoffer Lund died early into the upper rank (6th), Thielmann failed with a shot from the penalty area on goalkeeper Noah Atubolu (23rd) and Denis Huseinbasic got stuck in the center of Kübler (27th).
But the guests also tried to set accents. With more possession of the ball in the back, Freiburg was looking for the way to the goal. With the best chance, Eggestein targeted just left from a distance (18th). But Cologne was defensive and defended attentively and cleanly – and finally rewarded himself: After a corner, Bülter flanked Lang to Kaminski, who converted the ball to his first FC goal.
Immediately after the restart, the Cologne goal hymn “if et trömmelche jeit” sounded again. This time it was Bülter who, after a precise cross from Thielmann from a pointed angle, headed ice cold into the right corner. Just ten minutes later, the interaction turned: Bülter flanked sharply from the left into the middle, where Thielmann sank the ball at the bottom right. It sounded “the FC is back” from the ranks.
Almost a little later Kaminski would have caused even more cheers and placed 4: 0, but keeper Atubolu could finally distinguish itself and parried brilliantly in the short corner (67th). Freiburg then came to the best chance of the game, but Marvin Schwäbe prevented Lucas Höler (70th) with a strong parade.
But Cologne finally closed the sack: Almost ten minutes after his substitution, El Mala scored from around 15 meters to 4: 0. Eggestein still caused the honor goal and the first goal of FC in this young Bundesliga season, but for Freiburg there was a game to forget.
