A living northern atlantic dwarf fin fish that washes up on the Belgian coast is extremely rare. It is the first observation in the last 30 years. There is a rescue campaign to get the whale back into the sea at Vloed. The animal is still alive for the time being, but has a chance of suffocation due to its own weight. The dwarf vinvis has no injuries and is not emaciated, which increases the chance of a successful rescue.
