Speculation about Bitcoin transfer
In July 2025, however, SpaceX once again focused on observers of the cryptomark. The reason was a big movement on a well-known wallet address of the company. After more than three years without activity, 1,308 Bitcoin worth around $ 150 million were suddenly shifted. Coindesk reported that the visible Bitcoin stock of SpaceX initially went back to 6,977 BTC. This process raised the assumption that SpaceX might have sold part of his reserves.
Arkham clarifies: Coins on at SpaceX
A short time later, however, the dissolution followed: As block coach reported, citing Arkham Intelligence, the recipient address was identified as the account of Coinbase Prime. SpaceX therefore did not sell the coins, but only transferred them to the custody of the service provider. A small test amount that was transferred to the original wallet before the transaction of Coinbase Prime is considered an additional reference to this process. According to Arkham, SpaceX continues to hold the entire 8,285 Bitcoin.
Musk companies rely on Bitcoin
Musk electric car maker Tesla has also been invested in Bitcoin for years. Arkham Intelligence data reveal a considerable inventory of around 11,509 BTC. In the current Bitcoin course of around $ 110,662, this corresponds to an equivalent of around $ 1.27 billion (as of August 25, 2025). Tesla had already made his first major crypto investment in early 2021 and has been part of the position since then. Together, the Musk companies hold Tesla and SpaceX almost 20,000 Bitcoin. This underlines the importance that the cryptocurrency for the corporate strategy of the Tesla and SpaceX boss now has.
