September is present and, according to Floris Lafeber, meteorologist at weeronline.nlstart with “a taste of autumn.” In other words, it’s over again that beautiful summer. But the question is whether the shorts should also go straight into the cupboard.

Floris: “Just like the last August days, there is sometimes a (sturdy) west to southwest wind at the beginning of September. Freely moist air is supplied from this corner and it regularly comes to showers. Completely stewed days do not seem to be in it, because between the showers it can be dry for hours.”

Possibly beautiful late summer weather

According to Floris, after a number of changeable September days, the showers decrease halfway through the month. That is also accompanied by less wind and more sunshine. On average, the temperature will be between 17 and 19 degrees during the day and at night around 10 degrees.

Floris: “Whether it really comes to warm late summer weather is still the question. But inland it can still be warm for a few days in summer with 25 degrees. This strongly depends on the wind direction and amount of sunshine.”

Uncertainty by ex-icans

The weather forecast is still quite uncertain, because ex-icans can make the crossing via the Atlantic Ocean to the European continent and then strongly influence us. Floris: “Depending on the course, an ex-operators can cause changeable and turbulent weather, but also ensure a southern current. With a south wind it can be temporarily warmer.”

Who knows, you might be sunbathing in the Dobbepark in September, but as an old spell says: If the R is in the month, the weather is not always accommodating…
