Kees de Bever, John de Bever’s attention-minded man, would like to present an RTL program in which he looked for people who put hate reactions on the internet anonymously. “Ready with it!”
It disturbs Kees de Bever immensely that famous Dutch people like him and his husband John de Bever regularly get baking with shit on social media. He thinks it should be over and wants to present a program at RTL in which he looks up these kinds of people in real life to confront them.
Hate reactions
There is really no handling, says Kees. “I just keep finding those reactions on the internet terrible. Of those keyboard heroes who write everything. Yes, on Instagram or Facebook, or do I know a lot,” he says in the Weekend.
Kees has seized the fame of his husband to become a Dutch celebrity himself, but is now complaining about the negative sides. So like hate reactions. “It seems that you just have that if you get a bit more famous. That people like to do that, that it is part of it and that you have to take it. Apparently you cannot appeal to everyone.”
Reality
What particularly puts him is what he calls the cowardice of the respondents. “Those people have never seen us,” said Kees. “They are often the same people. Then, if they are a hundred reactions, they are written via three IP addresses. Do you understand what I mean? They are all the same people under the same message.”
Kees reads them all. “Yes, if it is really negative, we just block. Look, they can say that I can’t sing. I understand that myself. They can say anything in that regard. But it is just not about anything anymore.”
‘Totally sick’
It is a poison that affects the entire Showbizz, says Kees. “It is with all artists. You get completely sick, and they usually have no profile photo, or a photo of a cat. But if you don’t like it, just continue. Just scroll, leave me alone! I don’t ask if you want to watch.”
Now he wants to make a program about it. “I would like to make a program at RTL or elsewhere and then just look up those people. That I suddenly stand next to them or something. And then of course they suddenly do very much fun. Because it is online toughness. And then take those people to the performances for a day.”
“Look, you don’t have to like us, but why that negative on the internet?”
