Pistorius: “Mega future project”
It will be about “identifying the pitfalls and ensuring that they are eliminated”. Pistorius spoke of a mega future project that was condemned to success. Governments are responsible for bringing the industries together. “We want this joint project because it is important,” said the Minister of Defense.
“Contracts are concluded to be met.” If there is a desire for changes, it could only be available after new negotiations between the contractual partners. However, the process should no longer last forever, Pistorius emphasized. The project does not tolerate any further postponement.
Decision by the end of the year?
So far, Airbus (Airbus SE), the French fighter jet manufacturer Dassault Aviation (Dassault Aviation SA) and the Spanish armaments group Indra Sistemas have been involved in the project of the Airbus and Armor. The German engine farmer MTU (MTU Aero Engines), its French competitor Safran and the Spanish provider ITP aero have come together for the drive. The German radar specialist Hensoldt is also involved in the development of demonstrators.
By the end of the year, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) had announced a decision about how to proceed with FCAs, and mentions that there was a desire to participate in the project on the French side.
