Werder Bremen has achieved the final breakthrough in the event of a candidate Isaac Schmidt, an obligation is now about to be completed. After transfer market information, the green-whites agreed on a loan on Wednesday evening with Leeds United, the club of the 25-year-old right-back. Schmidt is expected in Bremen on Thursday morning. Werder has agreed with the player since the end of July. Last summer he switched from St. Gallen to Leeds for almost 3 million euros, but played a subordinate role in the Premier League return. In the championship he was only 71 minutes distributed over twelve missions on the square, and in the FA Cup he came to 180 minutes. Nevertheless, he was nominated for the national team of Switzerland for the first time in March and was also part of the Nati line -up in June.
In St. Gallen, where he was involved in 17 goals in 108 games, Schmidt was converted into full -back from the winger. Its regular position is the right side, but it can also be used on the left. After the cruciate ligament rupture of Mitchell Weiser, which should have been used more aggressively after the system change under Horst Steffen anyway, there was no longer a nominal right -back in the Bremen squad. On Tuesday, Yukinari Sugawara was loaned by FC Southampton. Felix AGU was planned for the right defense side, which was on the left last season.
