FC Bayern plays negligently in Wiesbaden, only narrowly turns a cup blam. And Harry Kane even shoots a penalty.
FC Bayern Munich has just barely escaped an embarrassment at third division Webaden Wiesbaden. In the first round of the DFB Cup, Harry Kane (90.+4) saved the 3: 2 (1: 0) victory on Wednesday evening. The Bavarians made it unnecessarily exciting: After the goals of Kane (16th minute/penalty) and Michael Olise (51st), it initially looked for the record champion after a safe victory, but a double strike by third division goalkeeper King Kaya (64th, 70th) also provided an exciting cup evening.
Wiesbaden’s goalkeeper Florian Stritzel experienced a big evening, who was a feat in addition to many strong parades: he parried a penalty from Kane in the 76th minute. Bavaria’s goal scorer had previously transformed 31 competitive criminal offenses in a row.
17-year-old Lennart Karl in the starting eleven
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany had used the game for a large rotation, compared to the brilliant 6-0 victory for the Bundesliga start against Leipzig, he switched to six positions. Jonas Urbig was guarding the goal for the red -locked Manuel Neuer, in the offensive midfield Lennart Karl was allowed to go from the start. The 17-year-old had convinced in preparation. “He has no pressure, should enjoy the game”, Kompany said before the kick -off on ZDF.
Blowing to keep the zero as long as possible would have burst after ten seconds. Summer access Luiz Diaz came to the shot after a nice pass from Kane from seven meters, blowing Florian Stritzel parried strongly.
Wiesbaden at handmade in happiness
In the 10th minute, Wiesbaden’s Jordy Gillenkens nibbled the ball twice by hand while lying down so that Kane could no longer complete. Referee Daniel Siewert overlooked the two deliberate handballs that there should have been penalty. Video assistants are only available in the DFB Cup from the round of 16.
Shortly afterwards Siewert pointed to the point. Ryan Johansson pulled on the arm of the hurried Sacha Boey in his own penalty area, Kane confidently converted the due penalty.
Double chance for contractions
Afterwards, the Bavarians still awarded several top -class players, as expected, the counter -strong Wiesbadeners stood very deeply. In the 38th minute they also had a top-class double chance: third division goalkeeper King Fatih Kaya was blocked, storm colleague Nikolas Agrafiotis then shot down significantly.
The scene showed how Brüchig was the 1-0 half -time lead of Bayern – despite clear superiority. All the more important the early 2-0 after the break: Youngster Karl, until then largely inconspicuous, with a pace dribbling caused excitement to the 16s, forced Justin Janitzek to a tackle that promoted the ball in front of the feet of Olise. The Frenchman hit the right corner without humor.
Kaya strikes twice and ice cold
Afterwards Bayern were even more dominant than anyway and Diaz alone missed several great chances. The negligence had the consequence that tension came up again when Kaya grabbed Jonathan Tah in a flank and scored 1-2. Just six minutes later, the captain even went one step further: a simple header extension levered the Bayern defense and Kaya fed up in a duel with goalkeeper Urbig.
Suddenly the Bavarians were under pressure – and even a new penalty didn’t help. Milad Nejad had hit Kane with a tackle on the foot. Kane even competed with 20 out of 20 converted competitive play elements for Bayern. But number 21 went wrong: Stritzel parried heavily and also defused Kane’s header in a direct connection – the stadium shook.
It looked like an extension when Kane struck again in added time. He headed a cross from the half field into the net and saved his team from embarrassing.
