More than one in four (28 percent) dairy cows in Northwest Europe suffer from lameness. On that average, researchers from the universities of Utrecht and Wageningen come out in an analysis of 53 studies previously published earlier. The differences between companies are large: there are farms where cows hardly have any lameness, while there are also companies where more than six in ten cows are crippled.
