A young arsonist, together with his mother, apologized to the fire brigade for causing a fire in Haaren. Around nine o’clock a report came to the fire brigade of a fire on the Broerspaadje, in the outskirts of Haaren.
Some of the bushes were on fire there, near a few hives. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly and managed to prevent the hives from catching fire. A little further on, the fire brigade found a second fire along the ditch, they also managed to extinguish that fire quickly.
Bystanders said that the fire was probably caused by a number of young people, and fireworks would also have been used.
