Bosz saw his team play ‘flat’ in the first half. “In the second half things went better and especially immediately after the break we gave good pressure on it and we decided the game. But we give those goals away and that is unnecessary,” the coach thought.

Bosz was especially happy with the two goals from substitute Esmir Bajraktarevic. “He has been with us for half a year and has received little playing time from me, but has now shown that he can play very well. He is still young, isn’t it?”

‘We are going in a tough season and need quality’

Peter Bosz

PSV trainer

All in all, Bosz kept a good feeling about the competition: “We have won the Johan Cruijff Scale, are at the top with 9 points and have scored twelve times. We just started the competition well, while we had to implement quite a lot of changes.”

The trainer must currently “tinker” at the spits position, because the Frenchman Alassane Pléa was badly injured last week and Ricardo Pepi has only just returned after months of injuries. Ivan Perisic was forced against FC Groningen in the rush.

“Sometimes there is force majeure,” said Bosz, who repeated that the national champion wants another striker to close the transfer market. “We are going in a tough season and need quality. The men of management are busy with it and I am convinced that we will find a good replacement.”
