Winners are recognized in four categories in each part of the world – Africa, Asia, Europe, North and Central America, South America, Southeast Asia and Oceania. European winners include Russian photographer Maria Gelman (Honorable Mention) and German-Russian documentary filmmaker Nanna Heitmann.
