That is why Bavaria’s goal didn’t count

This scene was not decisive for the game, but strange. At the victory of Bayern against Leipzig, the guests also score a goal, which does not count minutes later.
With a 6-0 win against RB Leipzig, FC Bayern has set a clear exclamation mark at the start of the new Bundesliga season. In the middle of the game, however, there was a curious scene that has meanwhile led to the goal of the German record champion. In the 66th minute it was 4: 1-but only four minutes.
What happened? Leipzig’s central defender Castello Lukeba was supposed to do a free kick, but instead dribbled off the ball. This was followed by a long pass on teammates Johan Bakayoko, who forwarded the play equipment to Antonio Nusa on the left. The 20-year-old was drosing the ball from an acute angle under the crossbar of Bayern-Manuel Neuer remained without chance.
While many spectators in the stadium had not noticed the incorrectly executed free kick, Joshua Kimmich immediately turned to referee Florian Badstübner. “I have already noticed that the referee kicked off after the free kick and that the (Leipzig) player simply got rid of. I thought that it wasn’t possible,” said the Munich-based company after the game at the Sky microphone.
Kimmich claimed violently, followed back and forth. First the goal was given, then the video assistant (VAR) switched on and the gate was withdrawn. It took almost five minutes for the decision to be made. The reason: a change of four of the Bavarians and a double change on the Leipziger. Meanwhile, Kimmich saw the yellow card for his persistence of referee Badstübner.
“It’s not about right, it is about complaining, which is at some point unsportsmanlike,” said the captain of the German national team, who therefore admitted: “I would probably have given myself yellow because I remained relatively persistent.” In his view, however, it was crucial to interfere, Kimmich said. He could cope with the warning “because we didn’t get the goal from it”.
He said to the referee “that the gate is a scandal that it doesn’t work”. The assistants and cameras in the stadium are good. “In the end I am glad that he had the courage to take it back,” said Kimmich.
