Florian Lipowitz is also part of this year’s Germany tour. The 24-year-old experienced a moment of shock on Friday.
The second stage of the Germany Tour ended with a gripping sprint: The Ecuadorian Jhonathan Narváez prevailed after 190.3 kilometers from Herford to Arnsberg ahead of Riley Sheehan from the USA and Norwegian Søren Waerenskjold. The fastest German was Marius Mayrhofer, who finished fourth.
An incident caused a sensation of around 15 kilometers before the finish: Ethropy start Florian Lipowitz came off the route and pushed against a box on the side of the road. However, the Tour-de-France third was able to continue. The German master Georg Zimmermann was also involved in the accident. He had fallen once at the beginning of the race.
There was a change of management in the overall ranking: Waerenskjold conquered the blue jersey that Danny van Poppel had previously worn. The day winner Narváez is only seven seconds behind the Norwegian.
The tour continues until Sunday. On Saturday with the stage from Arnsberg to Kassel over 175.7 kilometers on the program.
