The daughter of former football professional Dennis Diekmeier has cancer. The situation is becoming more and more precarious. Mother Dana gives an insight into her soul life.
It is bad about the health of ex-HSV star Dennis Diekmeier: the 14-year-old Delani was diagnosed with a malignant tumor at the beginning of the year, which has now also scattered in the lungs. After several operations and chemotherapy, cancer is still not defeated. Now she has to undergo immunotherapy while the chances of healing are increasingly disappearing.
Mother Dana Diekmeier now spoke to the TV station RTL about her daughter’s disease. In doing so, she ran with the tears, described the difficult situation for her child and the family.
“A few weeks ago, the doctor just intercepted me in the hallway and said: Sit up to ensure that your daughter will not survive the year. Make it beautiful,” reports the 40-year-old.
Delani himself also deals with the seemingly hopeless situation and the impending death. “Of course, if you don’t survive 95 percent, you have to deal with death and dying,” said Dana Diekmeier. “And then she asks me, when do I die, how do I die?” These are questions that the mother has no answer.
Immunotherapy could be the last hope for the teenager. The chances of recovery are less than five percent. “She has already apologized to me that she worries us so many worries and that she sorry so,” says Dana Diekmeier with tears in her eyes. For her daughter, she finds praise in this difficult time: “Delani is so brave and strong-even for a 14-year-old. Sometimes she is already stronger than we or me.”
In addition to Delani, Dana and Dennis Diekmeier also have three other children: Dalina, Dion and Divia. The couple once met in Bremen and married 2010. Dennis Diekmeier is now a co-coach at SV Sandhausen. As an active professional, he ran 173 times in the Bundesliga for Hamburger SV between 2010 and 2018.
