Union of religious in Flanders apologizes for abuses in monasteries: “Deputy Shame”

The chairman of the Union of Religieuzen in Flanders (URV) has apologized for the abuses in the Flemish monasteries. A docuserie from VTM called ‘De Nunen’ revealed how, among other things, in the former St. Vincentius monastery of Zelem, in Halen, Limburg, a terror regime in the 1970s. “Justice must also get started with this,” said Sister Mieke Kerckhof, chairman of the URV.
