The prestigious Monlau Motul Motorsport Engineering Master opens its 13th edition

The Master of Engineering in Motorsport from Monlau Motul Technical Schoolhe celebrates a new season and now has more than 10 years training engineers specialized in the motorsport sector. The thirteenth edition of these pioneering studies in Spain has just begun and is made up of 33 students, who rwill receive 10 months of intense training to get to work professionally and highly qualified in motorsport or motorcycling competition.

the spanish center commitment to a theoretical-practical formula throughout the pedagogical process, with the aim of laying the foundations so that students can reach the elite of the sector. In this way, together with the teaching team, they follow an updated theoretical agenda and, at the same time, complement it with different master classes taught by top-level experts coordinated by the engineer Carlos Torrado.

Jaime Serrano, General Director of Monlau Motul Technical Schoolbreaks down the bases of the training proposal: “The main objective of the Master of Engineering is to give all engineers who are passionate about Motorsport the opportunity to train as true specialists in all its aspects.. To do this, we know first-hand the current needs of professional teams and specialized companies throughout the Motorsport industry. In this way, they leave fully prepared for an increasingly technical labor sector that requires solid theoretical-practical training and specialization such as the one we offer our students. The teaching staff that we have at Monlau Motul is simply unbeatable, since all the teachers also work in the main championships of their respective subjects”.

The 33 members of the 13th promotion of the Master will study 350 teaching hours, spread over 10 intense months. The agenda will be divided into the following 12 modules: Introduction to Motorsport; track engineering; Data acquisition; vehicle dynamics; Design – CAD/CAE; Engine and transmission; Materials in the competition; Ansys; Matlab and Simulink; Sports Marketing and Management; sports psychology; and final project.

The final projects will consist of five tests on circuits and a practice in the simulation room. In them, students will be responsible for designing and implementing a complete data acquisition (both in motor racing and motorcycling). What’s more, They will carry out the entire process, from the initial design, to the final test on a racing circuit. They will also prepare and manage the different parts that make up an event, documenting all the aspects that will be worked on during the test days. They will always have the supervision and advice of the teachers of the prestigious Barcelona school.

Both of them projects have the support of Motul, which also grants scholarships to the three best academic records, to encourage and reward excellence. this 2022, those enrolled come from various parts of Spain such as Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Valencia, Murcia, Huesca, Zaragoza, Teruel, Burgos, Cantabria, Malaga and Tenerife. Along with them, there is also an important international representation, with engineers from Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Portugal. Without a doubt, a good example of the universal character that these studies have acquired over the years.

What’s more, all graduate students will be part of the Monlau Motul Technical School job bank, as well as in the Monlau ALUMNI LinkedIn group, where each season, a multitude of national and international job offers are received. In this way, the possibilities of labor insertion are expanded and one of the great objectives of this Master is achieved.

Thanks to the extensive knowledge and tools that the promotions that have completed the Master’s have received since its creation in 2010it is common to see dozens of alumni working in the main international motor competitions, such as Formula 1, the World Rally Championship (FIA WRC) or MotoGP.
