Minister of European, Culture and Sports Mika Poutala was shocked by Tuesday’s death news.
Eemeli Peltonen, 30, MP for SDP’s first season, committed suicide at the Parliament House. He was found dead on the staircase of the Parliament House.
– I wasn’t dealing with him weekly, but we did one training period together. We were together for several days and there I got to know him as a really calm, moderate, kind -hearted person and appreciating other people. That yesterday came as a huge shock, Poutala tells Iltalehti Special forcesat the press conference of the program.
Poutala says he has heard of Peltonen’s death through internal communications in Parliament.
– Ten minutes earlier came the internal message of Parliament that there [Eduskuntatalossa] It is a case of death, Poutala says.

According to Poutala, politicians who are blatant and crush and cause spectacle are often raised from Parliament.
– Eemeli was really the opposite of it. He wanted to succeed and proceed with his skills and cooperation. I greatly appreciated it, Poutala describes.
– Eemeli was a good and knowledgeable politician. The kind of politician we would like to have more.
