Now, in 1998, 52-year-old Monica Lewinsky became aware of the world when she and Bill Clinton, the then US President, had a relationship. He is currently working with Amanda Knox. Both women have fallen into the swirls of a wide scandal – and survived. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, they tell about their experiences and project.

Lewinsky and Knox became friends when they were at the same event in 2017.

– He had a lot of advice on how to get back his own voice and his own story. It was a turning point for me, Knox reveals.

Knox took Lewinsky’s advice seriously. The meeting made him realize what herself defending himself means.

– Almost 28 years later, I struggle with the idea that my mistakes are expensive, Lewinsky says in a joint interview.

A couple of years after his first encounter, the duo ended up producing together The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox series for Hulu. The series focuses on the real case that Knox is related to himself.

In the twenties Knox was a student and a British Meredith Kerchar roommate in Italy. Kercher was murdered brutally in 2007. Knox and this then Italian boyfriend Raffeele sollecito was convicted. Knox was actually sentenced and released twice. Both were finally released in 2015. The media made Knox a suspicion and a scandal symbol.

The only person convicted is Rudy Guede. He was convicted of murder for 30 years in prison in 2008, but was released as early as 2021.

The new series seeks to respect the Kerchaper memory. The victim’s parents have died, and the recent article leaves the notion that they remained skeptical about Knox. The victim’s three siblings have also kept distance. Its Knox understands. However, he says he thinks about his former roommate all the time.

Young in the eye of a storm

Lewinsky and Knox have both fallen in scandals at a young age. Therefore, it is easy for them to understand each other. Knox also understands what kind of experience Lewinsky went through before him.

“I saw the same pain as myself,” says Lewinsky.

The new series is not just a legal drama that ends with a liberating judgment. It deals with long -term trauma and how a person rebuilt one’s life and faith in humanity – by taking risks.

“I hope people understand what happens to people when the titles are silent when you are with your family, you try to find the way forward and find out who you are now,” Lewinsky describes.

Lewinsky reveals that he has learned that if the restaurant got a free dessert, he had to leave quickly. This meant that the restaurant had been played on the restaurant.

“I don’t know if I would have survived without mine,” he says.

At some point in his residence, Lewinsky spent a long time inside, mainly with his mother. Photographers and journalists were on duty, trying to get to their door. Mom shed light on hoping that one day, Lewinsky could move freely outdoors. Now Mom says she was right.

When Knox became pregnant, he began to be scared. People had already dealt with knives on his husband’s Facebook photos. Pregnancy made people send messages that wanted the baby’s death or murder to know how it feels.

Lewinsky considers working with the media to be challenging. One way is to talk to journalists who did not write about the events of 1998. In addition, he is preparing carefully for everything.
