A few weeks after the Tour de France, the international elite of cycling professionals meets again for the Germany tour, Germany’s only stage race at world level.
Also in the starter field is Florian Lipowitz, who had become the third in the Tour de France this year and also won the white jersey for the best young professional.
Exciting racing sections in varied scenes ensure spectacular pictures and emotional moments. It starts on Wednesday, August 20, at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen with a prologue in the ZDF live stream. The ARD will broadcast the first stage in the first and in the ARD Mediathek Live on Thursday, August 21, from 2:00 p.m., which leads from Essen to Herford in East Westphalia.
From there it goes on Friday, August 22nd, down to the Sauerland to Arnsberg (ZDF). The third section of the Germany Tour connects on Saturday, August 23, Arnsberg with Kassel (ARD) before the last part of the tour on Sunday leads from Halle an der Saale to the final in Magdeburg (ZDF).

As with the Tour de France of men and women, the Saarland radio is responsible for the ARD – on television and radio, online and on social media.
