An Airbus A320 of the Condor Company made an emergency landing at Brindisi airport after the right engine caught fire shortly after departure from Corfu, Greece. The plane, directed to Düsseldorf with 273 passengers and eight crew members on board, should have reached the German destination on the evening of Saturday 16 August, around 9:35 pm. According to the German broadcaster WDR, travelers saw sudden languages of fire exiting the right turbine, a scene taken in several videos that later spread on social media. A spokesman for Condor clarified that it was a combustion phenomenon outside the engine. Nobody between passengers and crew has reported physical consequences.
