Existence security is the most important election theme for NSC in the upcoming elections. The minimum wage, now more than 14 euros per hour, wants to increase the party to 18 euros. In particular, more affordable homes must be built. And an annual dental visit must be included in the basic package of health insurance, the party writes in its draft election program published on Saturday.

In the previous parliamentary elections, ‘Good Governance’ was the most prominent theme in the NSC program. Now that is the third subject after livelihood and living. Although the party still advocates the same administrative innovations, such as the establishment of a Constitutional Court and making the parliamentary elections to the Regional.

Furthermore, NSC also strongly based itself on the election program from two years ago. Many proposals have remained verbally the same. In the chaos that NSC radiated since the departure of founder Pieter Omtzigt, the party opts for continuity in the election program.

“The party was Pieter Omtzigt,” said party leader Eddy Van Hijum recently in return for The Stentor. That also radiated the election program, with a full -page photo of Omtzigt. In the new program, Van Hijum, who only gets a small passport photo, writes that the party continues “tirelessly” as “movement of enthusiastic and concerned people.”

But a movement whose continued existence is at stake. The party that came to the Lower House two years ago has been on zero for months to two seats in the polls.

That also leads to an exodus of MPs. In a short time, three NSC MPs announced their switch to another party. Diederik Boomsma, who previously wanted to become a NSC party leader, goes to Ja21, he reported on Friday. ACT JELLE SOOS FAR FOR THE National party leader of the Fryske Nasjonale Party. And Agnes Joseph switched to BBB and also immediately took her seat to that party. Boomsma and soup farmer give up their seat.

Simpler taxes

To increase the livelihood, NSC wants, among other things, much simpler taxes and income schemes, the party writes in its draft program. This is how the allowances must be phased out. At the same time increasing the minimum wage should make up for the loss of income.

The idea behind this: if low -paid employees get more money from their boss, they need less government support. Employers must be compensated with lower taxes.

How NSC wants to pay all its plans is not yet clear from the 93 -page program. A precise financial substantiation is missing. That clarity will only come when the calculation of the Central Planning Bureau appears, in which NSC is participating for the first time.

Among other things, a lot of money is needed to get the new NATO standard of 5 percent, which NSC wants to get in 2035. According to the party, when financing this, “the existence of people should never be compromised”.

NSC says it wants to raise money with cuts on the ministries. The party also wants to stop tax benefits that do not achieve their original goal.

NSC points out that officials and advisers have been saying for years that many billions can be saved by removing such ‘inefficient’ tax benefits. But the scheme that these advisers usually call first wants NSC to be unaffected: the mortgage interest deduction, which costs almost 7 billion euros per year.

Missing asylum plans

In the asylum section of NSC, it is mainly noticeable what is not capable of. The party does not write anything about the abolition of the permanent residence permit and shortening the validity of temporary residence permits from five to three years. In the Lower House, NSC voted for this, as part of the asylum laws of former minister Marjolein Faber (PVV). The other government parties VVD and BBB mention these plans, which are now in the Senate, in their program.

Restricting labor migration remains more important for NSC than asylum. Study migration also wants to reduce the party. The party continues to strive for a total migration balance of 50,000 people a year.

The members of NSC can still propose changes for the draft election program. In the run -up to the party congress of 6 September, this will be voted on. Next Thursday, NSC will present its draft candidate list for the elections.
