The new season with the first round in the DFB Cup will be opened at the weekend. Now it is also clear how high the bonuses that the association releases to the clubs will be.
The German Football Association has slightly raised the premiums in the men’s DFB Cup. A total of 75 million euros will be distributed this season – around 800,000 euros more than in the previous year. The Supervisory Board and General Meeting of DFB GmbH & Co. KG set the Supervisory Board shortly before the start of the first round next weekend.
All 64 clubs in the first round automatically receive 211,886 euros. This means a minimal increase compared to the pre-season, in which it was 209,453 euros. In the following rounds, the sum doubles up to the semi -finals: for the second round there is 423,772 euros (instead of 418,906 euros), the round of 16 brings 847,544 euros (previously 837,813 euros), the quarter -finals 1.7 million euros (previously 1.68 million) and reaching the semi -finals 3.39 million euros).
The premiums of the final participants, on the other hand, remain unchanged. In the final on May 23, 2026 in the Berlin Olympic Stadium, the winner receives 4.32 million euros, as recently, the inferior finalist 2.88 million euros.
VfB Stuttgart and Arminia Bielefeld had faced each other in May. The Swabians won 4: 2 against the third division team at the time and secured the maximum bonus next to the trophy.
After the start this Friday, the second round will be held on October 28 and 29. The round of 16 will follow on December 2 and 3, the quarter -finals on 3rd and 4th as well as on February 10th and 11th, 2026. The semi -finals take place on April 21 and 22, 2026.
