It will be a very warm again on Wednesday, say hot summer day with a tight blue sky. The temperature rises like a rocket. There is also a regional heat wave. “The question is not when, but where in Brabant,” says Floris Lafeber van Weerplaza.

It is very hot this week. That is why the National Heat Plan has also been in force since Tuesday morning and the KNMI has issued code yellow to Thursday.

“The temperature rises like a rocket on Wednesday.”

Especially in Brabant and at the Zuiderburen it is warm. On Wednesday morning, according to Floris Lafeber from Weerplaza, the temperature will rise and it can be around 35 degrees.

A regional heat wave is therefore coming. “The moment a temperature of 30 degrees is being reached somewhere in Brabant this Wednesday, there is a regional heat wave,” says Lafeber. “The question is not when, but where in Brabant that temperature will be the first to be reached. Eindhoven and Etten-Leur are in the race.”

“The worst in the night is yet to come.”

Lafeber expects that in the course of the afternoon the first veil clouding will pull over our province. “A few showers can fall at the end of the afternoon, but this is very local.” The clouds will then increase and the humidity too. “But the worst in the night is yet to come. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday we really get a sticky night with temperatures of about 20 degrees.” According to Lafeber there is a ‘tropical night’.

We have to wait a little longer for cooling. The temperature is expected to decrease considerably this weekend and will be around 26 degrees. A lot more pleasant for many.

Tips from the National Heat Plan:

• Ensure enough drinking. For example if you are on the road and end up in a traffic jam.

• Keep your house cool. For example with sun protection, fan or air conditioning. Open your windows at night when it has cooled outside.

• Pay attention to medication use.

• Find the shade and do not do outdoor activities between 12:00 and 18:00.

• Call or call with vulnerable people to keep an eye on things.
