The 20-year-old from Hamburg defeated the American McCartney Kessler on Tuesday afternoon (MESZ) after two defended match balls and hard fight 6: 4, 2: 6, 7: 6 (8: 6). In doing so, she moved into the last 16 at a 1000 tournament for the first time. In it she meets the Czech Karolina Muchova or Varvara Gracheva from France.
Nervous at over 30 degrees
Two days after the coup against the world rankings Emma Navarro, Seidel followed the next exclamation mark in Ohio. Against Kessler, number 32 of the world, she increased significantly after a 2: 4 deficit in the first set, played more powerfully and secured the passage after 39 minutes.
