Duplantis came to a jump of 6.29 meters. It was the thirteenth time that the 25-year-old Swede set a new record. This year he did that for the third time: in February in Clermont-Ferrand, France (6.27) and in June in Stockholm (6.28). In Budapest, he managed to jump over a height of 6.29 meters in his second attempt.
Sergej Boebka
Duplantis is getting closer and closer to the series of Sergej Boebka. The Ukrainian improved the world record seventeen times with a centimeter in the 1980s and nineties. After his last tightening in July 1994, his record of 6 meters and 14 centimeters held up for almost twenty years. In February 2014, the Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie went over 6.16 meters.
Duplantis started his series of world records on 8 February 2020 with a jump over 6.17 meters.
Femke Bol leaves competition far behind in Budapest
Femke Bol has won the 400 meter hurdles at a Grandprix competition in Budapest. The Dutch athlete realized a time of 52.24 and was more than two seconds faster than its closest attacker, the Belgian Naomi van den Broeck (54.50).
Bol also came close to her time of Monaco without serious competition. In July she walked there during a competition from the Diamond League 51.95. The 25-year-old Amersfoortse hopes in September in Tokyo to prolong its world title in the 400 meters hurdles.
