“FC Bayern gets every player”
Sports board member Max Eberl defends himself against criticism

There was a few criticism of FC Bayern’s transfer policy. Now the sports director defends itself with clear words.
Bayern Munich’s sports director Max Eberl still keeps the German record champion interesting for stars. He could say “from the experiences” of many transfer talks: “Whoever claims that FC Bayern has lost international radiance for top stars. FC Bayern gets every player if he is ready to pay the called up. But we only do that if we are 100 % convinced as in the case of Luis Díaz,” emphasized Eberl in the “Sport Bild” (Wednesday edition).
Incidentally, Jörg Schmadtke advertised Díaz, who acted as sports director at Liverpool FC in 2023. Eberl inquired about Díaz at Schmadtke. Its judgment: Díaz would be a top reinforcement.
Players like Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao and Jamie Gitten (switched from BVB to Chelsea) were also in discussion at Bavaria, but probably canceled. Eberl said: “Of course we dealt with various players, that is our job.”
For Díaz, Bayern transferred almost 70 million euros to Liverpool FC. There had been criticism of the transfer policy of Munich in the past few weeks. But Eberl is satisfied. “We had a clear idea of our new offensive. For example, if I now present a quartet with Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and now Luis Díaz on the lawn, we certainly have one of the most dangerous series of attacks in Europe,” he said.
Most recently, the Munich sports director had underlined that the squad was well positioned for the new season even without a desired transfer Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart. On Díaz you have “clearly focused on. We are very, very happy with the squad at the moment. We did our work first, of course we continue to see what the market has.
