Moderator Jörg Pilawa is said to be in a relationship with Bundestag president Julia Klöckner. But another woman also plays an important role in his life.

Annette Pilawa is one year, two weeks and two days older than her brother, the well-known TV presenter Jörg Pilawa. With him she shares the great love of sport, especially football. Even as a child, she began to read newspapers “from behind” to study the sports part immediately. When father and brother played football in the garden, they were put in the goal. This passion later also shaped her career choice.

After graduating from high school in 1984, she studied sports, journalism and history. Her professional career started at Radio Bremen, where she accompanied Werder Bremen as a sports journalist. There she learned from the then sports television director Jörg Wontorra how to work for television.

In 1992 Pilawa moved to Sat.1 to the “RAN” editorial team. Later followed at the premiere and at the DSF (German sports television), where she as head monitored the broadcast of Bundesliga soccer games.

In addition to her work as a sports journalist, she was also a producer for TV formats, including for sports-related shows such as “The show with the mouse for adults”. Together with her colleague and moderator Gaby Papenburg, she also wrote the football book “Raus out of the offside trap” (Egmont VGS), which is intended to make it easier for women to get started with football knowledge.

Pilawa accompanied numerous major sporting events on site in her career as a sports reporter-from Olympic Games to World Cup to Tennis in Wimbledon-and personally got to know sports greats such as Franz Beckenbauer, Franziska van Almsick, Boris Becker or Jürgen Klinsmann.
