Schalke’s million -dollar Moussa Sylla had a dog. But apparently little interest in the animal – because that now ended up in the shelter. In an unusual way.

At FC Schalke, Moussa Sylla is one of the top performers. The center forward had come from the French club FC Pau to the “royal blue” last season for around 2.5 million euros and was able to establish itself in the team immediately. Its current market value is 6 million euros – it is considered a hot sales candidate in the notoriously Klammen Club.

However, the footballer born in France is currently less sensitive to sporting performances. As several media report, the 25-year-old second division is said to have left his dog back. In the meantime, the American Staffordshire Bull Terrier-Mischling ended up in the Essen animal shelter in an unusual way.

As reports, among other things, the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” (WAZ), is investigated against the Sylla because of a possible administrative offense in connection with the attitude of a dog. Accordingly, the professional introduced the dog called “Ghosty” when moving from France to Germany – without reporting this to the responsible authorities.

Since there is a lot of an American Staffordshire bull terrier in the dog, according to the experts of the Essen animal shelter, he is most likely considered a list dog, i.e. potentially dangerous breed. If you want to keep such a dog, you have to fulfill strict requirements and, among other things, provide certificate of expertise in order to receive an official approval. However, such proof is apparently not available to the Ordnungsamt Düsseldorf – where the striker star is residence – as the WAZ reports. On the part of the association, it was only said that after consultation with the player, they wanted to clarify all the open questions before you express yourself.

For this, however, the newspaper quotes the Essen animal shelter, where the dog has now been taken in Notobhut. Accordingly, vaccinations that are necessary for the animal, including against rabies, were also missing, and the vaccination pass was also not available.

The dog gave the dog a Mühlheim dog trainer who had paid attention to the animal for the Schalke striker. The woman describes to the newspaper that in the past year she had to take care of “Ghosty” for some time – for which Sylla paid her a fee for. At some point, Sylla’s wife would no longer have reacted to her news, the dog owners simply stopped contact and she had no choice but to hand over the dog in the shelter.

According to the “Bild” newspaper, the player has so far not responded to the request of a statement on the incident. Elke Esser-Weckmann, chair of the Essen animal welfare association, speaks of a “disregard” of the dog. She finds the behavior of the Schalke star “irresponsible”, as she said to the WAZ.

The Mühlheim dog trainer, in turn, turned to an employee of FC Schalke after picking up the dog in the Syllas private house in the Düsseldorf private house at the beginning of June and then heard nothing from the family of the professional for a month. The Schalke employee had voice message aligned that Sylla “unfortunately” had no use “for the dog.
