On Monday, the judgment in the ski jumping scandal for manipulated suits is expected. At the weekend, the Norwegian Marius Lindvik defied the situation.

At the Ski World Cup in March, the Norwegian Marius Lindvik cheered after jumping from the normal hill-the ski jumping star secured gold. But just a few days later, the suit scandal of the Norwegian team around Lindvik and Johann André Forfang became known. The 27-year-old was suspended until the end of the season and has now jumped again at the summer Grand Prix in Cutevel at the weekend-with success.

Lindvik won before the German Philipp Raimund and then told the Norwegian daily “Dagbladet”: “I think not everyone was so damn happy that I won today. So it was so damn beautiful.”

How long the joy of Lindvik will last will be shown. Because today on Monday the ethics committee used by the World Association FIS announces the judgment in the ski jumping scandal. How this fails cannot be foreged so far, but Lindvik could also lose its gold above the normal hill in hardship.

Even after the scandal became known and the first consequences of the World Association FIS, Sven Hannawald said in the T-Online interview: “For me, the suspension of the Norwegian athletes is a sign that the fis was not officially betrayed.

The noble metal Lindviks from the normal hill has not yet been canceled. It will be shown whether this will happen on Monday. However, the person concerned himself hopes for a mild judgment. He explained to the broadcaster TV2 on the weekend: “I hope that it will not go on. I think we have already been punished enough.”

Another comment by the Norwegian at the summer Grand Prix showed that Lindvik has not yet overturned and the reactions have been over so far: “It was really difficult to start again. The motivation was low. But I knew what it took to get to the world.

After videos of the suit fraud came to light in March, FIS racing director Sandro Pertile said according to the disqualifications by Lindvik, Johann André Forfang and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal: “I’m shocked.”

Pertile stated: “We would not have expected something like that. After the competition, we were able to better control the suits. Some had something striking.” What exactly? “The seam was the problem here. It was a different material in the seam. We now have to look at the situation in peace and make an analysis.” Due to the seam, the suit became stiffer and offered more stability in flight. This can also ensure further jumps.
