During the Second World War, the United States started an impressive campaign for military recruitment and for war bonds under the motto “Don’t let that shadow touch topic”. The posters showed depressing pictures of children in the shadow of a huge swastika. And warned of the deadly danger of fascism for the security and future of the country. Today the picture looks terrifyingly different. Maga tries to make fascism “cool”. Makes jokes about the brutal deportation tactics of the ICE, while removed celebrities such as Dean Cain glorify the idea of tearing children and families from American roads.
Termination of contracts and attacks on veteran rights
At the same time, those who risk their lives for this country – veteran: interior, national and soldier: inside -, silence and deprived of their dignity. In the meantime, the government uses tax money to polish, celebrate and reset racist and authoritarian symbols.
This week there was several frightening examples. Contract law is a pillar of American democracy. And anchored in the constitution. Nevertheless, Trump’s political appointments in the Veteran Ministry have announced the union contracts of 400,000 employees – many of them veteran: inside. These contracts not only secured income. But also patient safety in VA hospitals, since nurses, doctors: inside and specialist staff were able to report abuses such as dangerous shortage of personnel. Now the people who take care of injured soldiers: take care of the inside, less rights and protection. This is done after months of layoffs, the thousands of veteran: met in the Federal Service.
Shortly afterwards, the Air Force announced that the trans -sexed soldier: to be released inside. Even those who are only five years away from their pension. Return of racist monuments

Defense Minister Pete Hegseth announced this week the return of the “Reconciliation Monument” of the Confederation to the Arlington National Cemetery. The monument, which was built by a veteran of the Confederation in 1914, glossed over to the cruelty of slavery and celebrates a rebellion that fought for maintaining the enslavement. A cross -party military commission had recommended the distance in 2022 and described it as “thoroughly problematic”. Now it is to be restored for $ 10 million – part of a larger project for the restoration of confederated symbols and for the return of military bases.
This is the condition after less than half a year under Trump. You can hardly imagine what America will look like at the end of his term.
Political strategy and authoritarian approach
The script is clearly recognizable and the Trump government has implemented it efficiently in the first seven months: living hero: exchanging the inside with lifeless symbols, which tells a distorted history version; Use state power to punish everyone who does not follow the world view of the leader; the public lures the public with keywords such as “pride” or “security” while political control is expanded.
America has hardly resembled with the country where I grew up in the 1980s. Despite all the defects at the time, it looks bizarre and strange today. The shadow of fascism spreads – visible in Trump’s attacks on veteran: inside and their supervisors: inside in the VA.
Expansion of secret police forces
Instead of honoring the hero in a time of historical recruitment problems: Trump prefers to send his henchmen to recruit other henchmen that separate families across America. Billions flow into the expansion and recruitment for secret police units, while setting the attitudes are reduced – age limits, university degrees are deleted, even lie detectors, long standard in the federal police.
