Former German national football player Dzsenifer Marozsán continues her career in Saudi Arabia. The 33-year-old, who became the 2013 DFB dress in 2013 and Olympic champion in 2016, switches to Al-Qadsiah WFC to Saudi Women’s Premier League, founded in 2022. It has long been clear that Marozsán would leave her previous Olympique Lyon club after nine years.

“From the top of Europe to the heart of Al-Khobar. I am ready,” said Marozsán in a video that published her new club on social media. The club did not provide information on the contract term. The midfielder, who ended her DFB career after 112 international matches two years ago, receives the number 66. At Al-Qadsiah, she meets Icelander Sara Björk Gunnarsdottir, with whom she had played in Lyon. In the past season, Al-Qadsiah took third place.

Marozsán is one of a few European players in Saudi Arabia to date. The desert state, which is criticized due to the human rights situation or the discrimination against women and will host the men’s World Cup in 2034, recently attracted numerous male professionals with lucrative contracts.
