– I’m pretty happy. It went smoothly. I didn’t expect to be so fast. We shot with a semi -automatic rifle that I have never shot before. I was familiar with the Glock gun, he says.
– Nor have I shot before with a red spot. It was weird at first when the red dot was quite high when aiming.
However, Max, who has been employed by the army for 18 years, has shot a lot. It was a great help.
– I’ve competed a lot against my military friends. Although the second weapon and targets were new, the basic principles remain the same in shooting. When they are in order, there are no problems.

Max is the only Belgian soldiers in the competition, whose image can be published in the story without blurry. Belgian soldiers are not allowed to publicize their surname or military value.
Max is in Finland for the first time.
– I wish I had a little time to get to know the sights in Mikkeli. However, our schedule is tight.
– People are really nice. There is also a lot of nature and vegetation here, he praises.

– In the summer, I joined the Kittilä Reservists to practice shooting. Many times I didn’t have time to train, but apparently enough when it went well. I was a little surprised by myself.
There was no training shoot before the race, but we got to know the weapons and the target before performance. The neighbor had shot with similar weapons before.
– It wouldn’t have gone as well. Yes, it was useful. It was quite confident to go on the track, even though there were no high expectations. However, there are such tough shooters and professional soldiers who shoot weekly.

– This is extremely interesting. It knows in advance that, for example, a long military trainee is terrible, but I expect a lot.
