According to Malik Tillman (23), Bayer Leverkusen could once again hire a professional from the Dutch eredivisia this summer. As the portal “Soccernews.nl” first reported and the “kicker” later followed, Ernest Poku from AZ Alkmaar is on the list of the workself. According to the magazine, both clubs negotiate with each other because of the 21 -year -old right wing and the conversations should be promising.

The Poku, born in Hamburg, has been trained at AZ since 2019, in 2023 he made the leap to the professionals, for which he had so far 78 times and was directly involved in 19 goals. His contract is only valid until 2026 and since it should not signal no interest to extend, this summer would be the last option for the red and white to sell their own plants for adequate transfer. In the room there are 10 million euros, which would increase Leverkusen’s expenses to a good 113 million euros.
The Dutch U21 international is described as a clear winger who has enormous speed. Especially because of the second aspect, he is brought into play as a replacement for Jeremie Frimpong (24), which has switched to Liverpool FC for 40 million euros. According to the “kicker”, Poku in the 3-4-3 system was able to act as a very offensive right-wing rail player.

There are other opinions in the TM community. User “Bender_04” writes: “Probably not a 1: 1 replacement in terms of position, but a substitute for weapon speed. Would then rather take the squad position of Adli and act with Tella as a joker to get depth into play and/or for counterattacks by guided tours …” Amine Adli (25) recently left his future with the Rhineland and became hiking and wanderers and Olympique Marseille traded. With Farid Alfa-Ruprecht (19), also born in Hamburg, Bayer 04 already won a right wing this summer. Poku would be the second access from his home country to goalkeeper Mark Flekken (32) for the new trainer Erik Ten Hag.
