Handball Bundesliga club SC DHfK Leipzig has signed the Egyptian international Ahmed Khairi and completed his squad planning for the new season.

The 30-year-old strengthens the back area and receives a contract until the end of the season 2025/26. Khairi was originally bound to his previous club Al Ahly until 2026. As the Leipziger explained, despite an ongoing contract, “a mutual solution” was found.

“We absolutely wanted to hire a player with a high handball IQ and strengths in the game control. Ahmed Khairi has already proven these qualities internationally and will give our team a new input again with his style of play,” said sports director Bastian Roscheck.
