The judge also checks whether the regulations of the KNVB have been properly applied when taking the decision. It is not yet clear when the court will make a decision.

Entrepreneurs and fans Vitesse want to participate in the proceedings against KNVB

They have made a request for this to the court in Utrecht, Vitesse reports in a press release. The case serves Thursday at 1.30 p.m. They will hear later whether the parties can join.

“They want to show that the withdrawal of the license has major consequences for the entire Arnhem region,” said Vitesse, which was unsuccessful last week by the KNVB appeals committee after the club had challenged a decision from the License Committee.

“Vitesse is more than football. It is the beating yellow-black heart of Arnhem, a piece of identity of the city and the region. A piece of us. We, together with employees, volunteers, the strongholds, businessclubleds and other Vitessenaren, are Vitesse. Every match brings generations, neighborhoods and backgrounds together. Supporters Association.

The strong holders consist of a group of regional entrepreneurs who want to take over Vitesse.

According to Cindy Snelders, lawyer of the parties who want to join, the KNVB has ‘pressed the nuclear button’ with the withdrawal of the license and therefore opted for the most radical measure. “The question is whether carefully, reasonable and proportional was acted and whether there were really no less radical alternatives. The maintenance of the appeal committee would have irreparable consequences.”
