After 26 minutes of play, assistant referee Scott Chaulkley indicated that he could no longer continue. The fourth official could replace him as a linesman, but because Chaulkley was too injured to even fulfill the tasks of the fourth man, that caused a new problem. Referee Zac Kennard-Kettle indicated that he would not want to continue without official in that place.

‘The football has started again’

Shrewsbury Town was forced to lend a hand and early through the speaker if there was a qualified arbitrator present in the stadium. Bromley responded with humor to the action of the hosts. “The football has started again!”

But the call from Shrewsbury did sort the desired effect, because after an interruption of more than fifteen minutes the game could be resumed. Supporter Alan Cork turned out to have the necessary referee diplomas and thus completed the remaining hour as the fourth man. “A shout-out to our new fourth official for this afternoon,” wrote Shrewsbury on social media. “Thank you for saving us, Alan.”
