VfL Osnabrück played 0-0 against Alemannia Aachen at the start of the new season. At the debut of the new coach Timo Schultz, it was an annoying division of points for the purple whites on Saturday, which was also denied a possible penalty.

In the hard -fought duel between two traditional clubs, the guests started the game a little better. But cheered on by the usual frenetic home audience at the sold-out Bremen bridge, the Lila-whites have increasingly taken over the command and partially constricted Aachen in their own half. However, both teams had problems staging their tips over the entire duration. Not all cogs interlock and the VfL is still looking for strikers.

Almost owners like over there

At the beginning, the team from Neu-Coach Schultz initially had to survive a few frightened seconds. In the eleventh minute, after a successful move, Marc Richter went through perfectly with Aachen’s newcomer Kwasi Wriedt, but Yiğit Karademir grown strongly into the end of the former Osnabrück striker. Three minutes later, VfL captain Jannik Müller banged the ball after a throw-in throw-in in the reflex around a hair into his own gate.

But Aachen almost made an own goal. Danilo Wiebe actually had all the time in the center line, but then made a risky back pass to his keeper. Jan Olschowsky, who was in front of his goal, had no chance of capturing the arch lamp. The put -back flew just over the crossbar – further 0: 0 (16th).

Possible penalty is not given

After just under half an hour, the Lower Saxony were close to the tour again, but screwed up the chance himself. Lars Kehl chipped a free kick in front of the Aachen penalty area on the first post where striker Nikky Goguadze did not really hit the ball. After two blocked shots, Alemannia somehow brought the ball out of the danger zone (28th).

The VfL was now clearly on the trigger – and also in bad luck. Because a foot hit in the penalty area of Sasa Strujić, which was pre -loaded with yellow, remained unpunished and Osnabrück also fails the possible penalty (29th). So after the break it went on with eleven against eleven and a lot of fight, but also a lot of cramp in midfield.

Osnabrück winning goal is in the air

The final phase then belonged to the home side again. Patrick Kammerbauer forced Olschowsky to a brilliant parade (75th) with a full degree, Müller headed it shortly afterwards. The purple whites were even closer to the victory in the 82nd minute, when Niklas Wiemann came to the header completely freely to the header after a corner from Frederik Christensen, but did not score the goal from a very short distance.

The hosts had long earned the victory at the start. But in the end it remained a bitter aftertaste from Osnabrück’s point of view, while the Aachen fuselage team, which was battered by injuries, was likely to have started the journey home.
