Like everyone else, he was “shocked” about Dahlmeier’s death, wrote Bouthiaux in a contribution for the “Nordic Magazine”, in which he remembered the outstanding biathlete.

Her technique was not necessarily impressive, but damn efficient and made it very quickly. It was a very economic technology while she had a real engine,” summarized the sports director of the French team.

According to Bouthiaux, Dahlmeier was the “perfect prototype of a biathlete”.

At the same time, the German was also not a typical biathlete. “At the peak of her career, she was the girl who did not hesitate to interrupt a training session for a second to go into the mountains. She certainly gave her coaches a few sleepless nights,” joked Bouthiaux.
Dahlmeier simply made her “own decision without taking things too seriously. I think she always did what she wanted to do, how she wanted and when she wanted. This is probably what made her strong. The attempt to be someone else would not have suited her,” the French sports director of one of the best biathletes of all time.
