Defender Meijers returns to FC Volendam
Aaron Meijers returns to FC Volendam. The 37-year-old left back, who made his debut in Volendam, was transfer-free and signs a contract for one season, until mid-2026, the club reports.
Meijers ended up in the youth academy of Volendam in 2002, at the age of 15 and made his official debut in the autumn of 2006. He obtained his PhD with the club in 2008 to the Eredivisie and played 131 games for Volendam. Then he came out for RKC Waalwijk, ADO The Hague and Sparta Rotterdam, among others.
“Aaron brings the necessary Eredivisie experience,” says technical director Patrick Busby. “After a two -day training session, we were convinced of his added value to our selection.”
